Almudena Cathedral

Updated: May 10

It is located in the center of Madrid, next to the Royal Palace. You can visit both monuments in the same tour, if you wish. The Catholic Church was finally completed in 1993, and the admission is free. However, the museum section costs about 6 euros and on it you can get detailed information about the history of the church. The Neo-Romanesque crypt is amazing and is the oldest section of the building, where you can see an image of the Almudena Virgin. The outside illumination at night is very impressive. The Cathedral is open from Monday to Sunday: 9:30am-8:30pm.
