Royal Palace of Madrid

Updated: May 10

It was the residence of the Spanish royal family years ago, but is now open to the general public, though sometimes you may find it closed for state ceremonies. The construction started around the year 860, and many changes have been done throughout the centuries. During the Civil War in the last century, it sustained some damage, but was later restored. It is one the biggest royal palaces in Europe, having more than 3,000 rooms with amazing indoor decorations. It has to be visited if you are in Madrid. Usually it opens at 10 am until 6 pm in winter and 8 pm in summer. You can get access for less than 13 euros. Surrounding the building you will find two gardens Sabatini and Campos del Moro; both can be visited and are a must.
